Antique French Louis XVI Dressing Table with Mirror, c.1880
A beautiful original French Louis XVI coiffeuse dating from the late 19th century (c.1880–1900). This elegant piece features a shaped beveled mirror above two small drawers and a central compartment, all framed with fine carved neoclassical detailing.
The table stands on slender fluted legs with turned feet, a hallmark of the Louis XVI period, and retains its original brass ring handles. A single wide drawer sits below, lined with a delightful pale pink painted interior.
Finished in a soft pale grey paint, the table is topped with its original pale pink marble. The marble shows old wear and historic damage, entirely in keeping with its age and character, and only adds to its authentic charm.
I personally sourced this piece in France on one of my regular buying trips — a genuine antique with authentic French provenance, not a reproduction.
