3-PART RETURN & REFUND POLICY

PART 1 — LEGAL 14-DAY CANCELLATION RIGHTS (UK + EU)
If you are a consumer based in the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel your online order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations / EU Consumer Rights Directive.
Your legal rights allow you to:
- Notify us within 14 days of receiving your item that you wish to cancel/return.
- Return the item within a further 14 days from notifying us.
- Receive a refund within 14 days of us receiving the item back.

Return postage
Buyers are responsible for the cost of return postage (unless the item arrived damaged or was misdescribed).
PART 2 — STORE CONDITIONS FOR RETURNS
(Allowed under law as long as they are clearly stated — and now they are.)
Condition Requirements
Returned items must be:
- in the same condition as received
- unused, unworn and undamaged
- free from scents, marks, new wear or alterations
- returned with all original packaging, boxes, inserts and accessories
- securely packed for return transit
⭐ Security / Tamper Tag Policy (Jewellery, Handbags, High-Value Items)
Some items include a security or tamper-evident tag.
- You may try the item on at home while the tag is attached.
- Returns will NOT be accepted if the tag is removed, cut, broken or altered in any way.
- Once the tag is removed, the item becomes Final Sale.
This protects antique and vintage pieces from being worn and returned.
⭐ Furniture Deliveries — Access & Fit
Buyers must ensure the item will fit:
- through doorways
- up staircases
- into hallways
- around corners
- inside lifts
- into the final intended space
If the courier cannot deliver due to access/fit issues:
- the failed/aborted delivery cost is the buyer’s responsibility
- any re-delivery or return courier fees are also the buyer’s responsibility
This is treated as a change-of-mind return, and courier costs (both ways) are non-refundable.
PART 3 — ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE RETURNED
(These are legally permitted exemptions.)
The following items are NOT eligible for return or refund:
1. Digital Downloads (Final Sale)
- Maps, guides, PDFs, itineraries, workshop downloads

Instant-access products
Once delivered digitally, they are non-refundable.
2. Earrings
For hygiene reasons, earrings that have been worn or unsealedcannot be returned.
3. Items with Tamper Tags Removed
If the tamper tag is detached, cut, damaged or removed, the item becomes Final Sale.
4. Personalised or Bespoke Orders
Any item customised for you or made to order.
5. Items marked “Final Sale” on the product page
⭐ Faulty or Misdescribed Items
If your item arrives damaged or significantly not as described, we will:
- cover return postage, and
- issue a full refund once inspected
You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs, via:

⭐ How to Start a Return
To request a return:
- Email polly@frenchgeneraltrading.co.uk within 14 days of delivery.
- Include your order number, reason for return, and photos and videos (if applicable).
- Use a tracked postal/courier service for all returns.
- Refunds will be processed once the item is received and inspected.
Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
